“Your word is like a lamp that guides my steps, a light that shows the path I should take” (Psalm 119:105 ERV).

The main theme of the Bible is simply to proclaim God’s plans to save His children. Through the Bible, we learn that we are lost, separated from God and need to be saved. The Bible reveals God’s plan to provide redemption for us through the atoning work of Jesus Christ, which we receive through faith.

Understanding the purpose of the Bible is like understanding how to read a GPS. When you know what you’re looking at, and you can understand how to adjust your direction as needed, you will journey safely. The problem can be in our understanding of how to make the necessary course corrections. God is committed to helping you move through your journey of life and to providing the information you need to adjust your course. This information is found in the Bible. Through the Bible, God reveals His plan, purpose and priorities for you. Commit to reading the Bible each day and to making the necessary course corrections to ensure your arrival at the place God planned for you before you were born.

Lord, I thank you for helping me make the necessary course corrections as I journey through life. I commit to reading the Bible each day so that I can continue to learn and grow as a believer.
